PATS ACQUIRE JOSH FAUTH FROM KOOTENAY
Regina SK ---- Late this evening the Regina Pats acquired nineteen-year-old defenceman Josh Fauth from the Kootenay Ice in exchange for a 5th round bantam draft selection in 2007.
Prior to tonight, Fauth appeared in twenty-one games with the Ice this season recording two assists and adding fourty-two penalty minutes. Fauth, a 64 234lb product of Medicine Hat was a 4th round draft choice of the Ice in 2001, and has appeared in ninety-nine career WHL games.
With the loss of Spencer Fraipont and Andy Schenn we were left with only six defencemen and we felt that Josh was a good fit for us at this time. He is a big body that will compliment our other defencemen, and he has played in a great program that has been very successful. We are looking for Josh to provide some veteran experience to what is a very young defensive core, commented Pats GM Brent Parker.
Fauth will join his new teammates tomorrow in Cranbrook, and is expected to make his Pats debut on Friday night when the Pats begin a seven game road trip in Spokane.
