Calgary is world-renown as the host of the very successful 1988 Winter Olympics. The city has the largest population on the parries, approximately 1 million and is three hours north of the USA border. The Calgary Stampede is without doubt Calgary's best-known visitor attraction. The Saddledome and the Stampede Corral are both located on the stampede grounds which can be accessed from the LRT (Light Rail Transit) at Victoria Park or Erltion Stations. Map (http://www.calgarytransit.com/Routes/lrt_stop.html) Other attractions are, the Glenbow Museum, Calgary Tower, Canada Olympic Park and Eau Claire Market, are great places to visit year-round.

Airport
The Calgary International Airport is 5 miles (8km) from the city center. It is western Canada's inland hub and gateway to the Canadian Rockies, serving 8.7 million passengers the 3rd busses in Canada.

It's located west of downtown at 8th Avenue SW and 850-16th St, LRT is at 7th Avenue SW and 10th Street.

By car
Trans-Canada (Hwy 1) passes through the city to the north of downtown it becomes 16th Avenue. Main road North South is Hwy 2 or called Deerfoot Trail.


Currency
Canadian money is in dollars and cents, similar to the United States.

Visas
Citizens or permanent residents of the United States do not need passports or visas, and can more often than not cross the US-Canada border with no problems. Citizens of Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland must have valid passports. Visitors from other countries ought to contact the Canadian consulate or embassy in your country.

Before I sunk my roots in, I found that the University area was an alright places to stay. A lot of hotels around the U of C with eateries and the C-Train nearby, you can't go wrong with that.

Also, I stayed in Bowness once, which was right near Canadian Olympic Park, but there was zero transportation nearby.

I understand that there will be no parking at McMahon stadium this weekend.There will be alot of people going to the game from out of town.There will be coming from all directions.Will there be any express buses throughout the Calgary area taking fans to McMahon?

LRT station right across the street from McMahon with a pedestrian overpass. You can park at Brentwood LRT station. Here is the link. The McMahon stop is called University.http://http://www.calgarytransit.com/route_maps/lrt_stop.html

the LRT is the best way for getting to McMahon stadium and
if your looking for a place to stay you can go to Motel village
and walk to the game...
