The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Taylor Dakers of the Kootenay Ice. Dakers earned player of the week honours by recording a 0.980 goals against average, 0.965 save percentage, 83 saves and three wins during the week of November 14th to November 20th to help lead the Ice to a perfect record.
On Tuesday, November 15th, Dakers recorded 33 saves in a 3-2 overtime win against the visiting Kelowna Rockets. On Friday, November 18th, Dakers stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced in 4-1 road win against the Swift Current Broncos. He also recorded an assist in the game.
On Saturday, November 19th, Dakers recorded 31 saves in a 3-0 shutout victory over the Tigers in Medicine Hat.
Dakers, a 19-year-old native of Langley, British Columbia, was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
