Roonem and Courchaine Assigned From Houston

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that left wing Mark Rooneem and left wing Adam Courchaine have been assigned to the Ice Pilots from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League and defenseman Steven Later has been assigned to the Ice Pilots from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
Rooneem, who stands 6'2" and weighs 191 pounds, has played in five games with Houston this season picking up ten penalty minutes. He played in 8 regular season games with the Ice Pilots last year scoring 2 goals, 7 assists for 9 points picking up 6 penalty minutes and played in all 4 playoff games last year picking up one assist and two penalty minutes.
Rooneem also played in 57 games for Louisiana last year scoring 17 goals, 10 assists for 27 points picking up 72 penalty minutes and played in one game for Houston. He played in the WHL for Kamloops and Calgary from 1999-2004. Rooneem was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 4th round and was the 115th player taken overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He is 22 years old from Hinton, Alberta and shoots left.
Courchaine, who stands 5'10" and weighs 175 pounds, has played in six games with Houston this season. He played in 71 games for Vancouver of the WHL last year scoring 28 goals, 50 assists for 78 points picking up 32 penalty minutes.
Courchaine played for Medicine Hat and Vancouver of the WHL from 2001-2005. During the 2002-2003 season with Vancouver, he played in 71 games scoring 43 goals, 42 assists for 85 points picking up 24 penalty minutes. Courchaine was selected in the 7th round by the Minnesota Wild and was the 219th player taken overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He is 21 years old from Winnipeg, Manitoba and shoots left.
Later, who stands 6'4" and weighs 200 pounds, played in 70 games last season with Brandon of the WHL scoring 14 goals, 49 assists for 63 points picking up 220 penalty minutes. He also played for Saskatoon and Prince George of the WHL and at Ferris State University. Later is 21 years old from Winnipeg, Manitoba and shoots right.
