Brandon Wheat Kings' prospect Jay Fehr has been chosen the Offensive Player of the Week in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

A member of the Pembina Valley Hawks, Fehr scored six points last weekend in leading his club to back to back victories over the Southwest Cougars and Interlake Lightning.

A former seventh round pick (136th overall) in the 2004 Western Hockey League bantam draft, the 5'9" 170 lb Morden product is currently averaging 2.4 points per game after missing the first four games of the regular season.

The Hawks' captain is on pace to improve on his third place finish in last year's AAA midget league scoring race.

Fehr was recently chosen to Team Western for this year's World Under 17 Challenge, to be played in Regina.

Brandon will be well represented at this year's Holiday Tournament in Saskatchewan. He joins Michael Proudley of the Dauphin Kings, Nathan Green of the Winnipeg Wild and Wheat King rookie defenceman Keith Aulie as members of Team Western while rookie center Matt Hallick will suit up for Team Alberta.
Proudley and Green were also chosen by the Wheat Kings in the 2004 WHL bantam draft
