Silvertips Battle Winter Hawks this Weekend

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips finally ended their tough 7-game losing streak with a big 3-2 shootout victory over the Prince Albert Raiders at the Everett Events Center on Sunday night. With the win, the Silvertips are in 1st place in the U.S. Division with a record of 15-12-1-0 (31 points). This weekend the Silvertips and the Portland Winter Hawks will battle for the top spot in the US Division in two games over the weekend. The Hawks visit the Everett Events Center on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. On Saturday night the Silvertips will travel to Portland, Oregon to face off against the Winter Hawks at the Rose Garden at 7:00 p.m.

EVERETT SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS
John Lammers (13 goals, 14 assists) and Peter Mueller (11 goals, 16 assists) are tied for 1st on the hockey club in scoring with 27 points. Lammers leads the Silvertips in goals with 13. Defenseman Shaun Heshka (5 goals, 17 assists) is 3rd on the team in scoring with 22 points and leads the team in assists with 17. Zach Hamill (5 goals, 12 assists) is the team leader in plus/minus with a +7. In goal Leland Irving has recorded 14 wins and posted a 2.16 GAA and a 91.7% SP.

EVERETT SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS
The Silvertips are currently 7th in the WHL on the power play (28 of 156, 17.9%) and 7th in the WHL on the penalty kill (115 of 133, 86.5%).

SILVERTIPS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS
Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving is currently tied for 3rd in the WHL in Wins (14), 5th in GAA (2.16), tied for 8th in SP (91.7%). Silvertips defenseman Shaun Heshka is tied for 3rd among all WHL D-men with 22 points and 4th in assists by a defensemen with 17. Forward Peter Mueller is ranked 3rd in the WHL in Rookie Scoring with 27 points and is tied for 4th with John Lammers in short handed goals with 2.

GOOD LUCK BRADY
Silvertips forward Brady Calla will take part in the 2005 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge on Thursday, December 1 in Regina, SK at 8:00 p.m. (CST). Calla will be on Team WHL as they battle the Russian Select team. Silvertips forward Zach Hamill was also invited to play in this year's event but will not be able to play due to injury.

MAN GAMES LOST DUE TO INJURY
This season the Silvertips have had 80 man-games-lost due to injury after 28 games. Last season the Silvertips had 24 man-games-lost due to injury after 28 contests.

VERSUS THE PORTLAND WINTER HAWKS
The Silvertips are 2-0 against the Hawks this season after two of twelve meetings. Overall the Silvertips are 14-6-4 (ties) all time against the Winter Hawks and 7-4-1 (tie) all time against Portland and the Everett Events Center.

SHOOTOUT SUCCESS
The Everett Silvertips are 4-0 in shootouts this season. Everett has scored 9 goals on 12 attempts in shootouts this season and goaltender Leland Irving has made 8 saves on 12 shootout shots.
