The Last Time
The Tri-City Americans (9-11-3-1, 22 points, fifth place in the U.S. Division) have collected points in ninet straight games after a 5-4 overtime loss at Portland last Saturday night. The Americans trailed 4-1 after two periods when Jason Beeman would collect a natural hat trick in just a 4:29 span of the third period to tie the game at 4-all. Beeman (8,9 and10) would score first at 5:50, then added markers at 8:12 and 10:19 to complete the comeback. Taylor Procyshen (3) added a second period single. The Winter Hawks would win the game in the extra period on a Jon Bubnick power play goal at 4:04 of the overtime. The Americans are 1-1-1 in the 10-game season series.

Americans vs. Kootenay
The Americans are 1-1 against the Ice this year in the four-game series. The Ice beat the Americans 7-1 in Cranbrook, B.C. on September 23rd. The Americans evened the series with a 3-0 shutout of the Ice at Toyota Center on Thursday, November 24th. Carey Price made 29 saves for his 10th career shutout. Juraj Gracik and Ian McDonald each had one goal and one assist. Matt Schneider, a one time Ice list player added a tally as well. The Americans are 0-8 on the power play and have killed off 5-7 Ice man advantage situations for a 71.4% kill percentage. The teams will wrap up the season series at the Rec Plex in Cranbrook on Saturday, March 4th.

The Americans have drawn 52,051 fans to the first 15 dates at Toyota Center, averaging 3,470 fans per game. Last year the club averaged 3,270 per date…Carey Price had a shutout string of 162:26 end in Portland in the 5-4 overtime loss to the Winter Hawks last Saturday after shutouts against Everett and Kootenay.…The Americans have collected 14 of a possible 18 points (5-0-3-1) in the last nine games with wins over Everett, Kootenay, Spokane, Seattle and Kamloops and overtime losses against Portland, Seattle twice and Regina. List players Lucas Bloodoff and Colton Grant were named to Team Pacific…Juraj Gracik and Igor Bacek were named to play for Team Slovakia at the World Junior Tournament to be played in Vancouver, B.C. beginning December 26th. They will join the team on December 15th. Bacek has been hot as he brings a five-game point-scoring streak (1-5-6) into tonight’s game. Ian McDonald has points in four straight (2-5-7)…The Americans home power play is 17-85, 20%. Penalty killing is 67-81, 82.7%...The Americans went 5-3-3-1 in November and are 3-2 against B.C. Division teams heading into tonight’s game with wins over Prince George, Kamloops and Kootenay…Jason Beeman will miss the first of a league imposed four-game suspension tonight for a hit on Portland’s Scott Gabriel last Saturday in the Rose City. He is eligible to return to action next Friday, December 9th against the Winter Hawks…Assistant coach Gordie Frantti was fined $250 for his ejection in the game at Portland last Saturday…The Americans reported no injuries to the WHL this week…
