I made the trip down to Regina for this one and was pleased with the outcome, and the effort the boys put in last night.A few players efforts stood out such as Jory,Dittmer,Kauk,Aulie,Leblanc and a few others.Total team effort.Jory played very well in picking up his first WHL win,and Aulie picked up his first WHL point in an assist on the second goal.I wish I didn't have to return home or else I would have just made the jaunt to the Civic Centre for tonights game vs the Warriors.I hope they will keep up their solid play and get on a roll.Glad to see the boys caring about their own play.

Keep up the good work. GO! WHEATIES GO!

I think tonight will be a far tougher test. If they can pull it off we may be heading in the right direction Go Wheaties Go

Wow another win against another good hockey team. The boys are really digging and playing solid hockey.Another total team effort tonight, and when they put in those types of efforts, they are now realizing that you get results when you work hard.Their play as of late makes me proud.Hopefully the boys will be fired up for teddy toss this Friday against the Medicine Hat Tigers.Hopefully another solid outting and another win.Keep it up boys. :thumb:

i think p.a and brandon arent as weak as they started out.. m,j hasen't looked strong i think this division will be tighter then other people think

Both the Raiders and Brandon are finding out that you get rewarded for hard work.Look at the MJ vs PA game where both Doucet and Dowhay were battling behind the MJ net for like 2 minutes,Doucet centers and pinching is was Gauthier with his 70's porn mustache.Thats just an example of the Raiders hard work. But the defence has been better, but the goaltending has been exceptional. The Raiders do have trouble scoring and not all the time will you be able to win with only 2 goals in this league. The Wheatkings haven't had trouble scoring,it's been their defence, but that has improved lately,as well as Plante.

When you work, you get results, when you take nights off,you get punished with losses. Both teams are finding ways to win.If only Brandon could get the PP going.

The Brandon Wheat Kings have returned home, fresh off a successful 2-game Saskatchewan road trip that saw the defending Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference Champions defeat the Pats in Regina and the Warriors in Moose Jaw.

After edging the third place Pats 3-2 in an Overtime Shootout on Tuesday night, the Wheat Kings bounced the front running Moose Jaw Warriors 3-2 on Wednesday.

While rookie Kurt Jory chalked up his first ever WHL victory on Tuesday, it was 2005 Rookie of the Year Tyler Plante who earned the spotlight against the Warriors, who outshot Brandon 25-18.

Among Plante's 23 saves Wednesday night was a penalty shot stop against Swedish right-winger Bjorn Svensson in the second period.

With the back to back road wins, the Wheat Kings improved their record to 9-17-4-1, climbing to within one point of the Prince Albert Raiders and fourth place in the WHL's Eastern Division.

While Mark Derlago and Tyler Dittmer were the Shootout heroes in Regina, it was Dittmer, Sami Sandell and Codey Burki with the goals in Moose Jaw. Dittmer has now scored goals in three of his last four games while Sandell has four of his 5 goals this season during the past four games.

The Wheat Kings won't have much time to sit back, relax and enjoy the 2-game win streak as they go back to work on Friday night when they kick off a 2-game weekend home stand against the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers. Brandon will then close out a 4-game in four city week on Saturday night with a "home" game at Winnipeg's MTS Centre against the Regina Pats.

Former Tiger defenceman Riley Day reaches a milestone Friday night when he takes to the ice for his 200th career game in the WHL. A former third round draft choice of the Tigers, the 6'3" 225 lb Brandon product enters the weekend with four goals and 10 points in 30 games. As well, he's third amongst WHL blueliners with 94 minutes in penalties.
