As some of you may have heard, The Calgary Flames Alumni are coming to Swift Current January 14th for a game against The Swift Current Legionnaires Alumni. This is the second fund raiser for The Legionnaires, the first being the sportmans dinner which was a huge success. This fund raising came about when The Legionarres got new sponsors this past season. Out of this came The Legionnaires Alumni Association. On this board are former Legionnaires Marc Habscheid ( coach Team Canada ) Pat Marleau ( San Jose Sharks Captain ) Trent MaCleary ( former Montreal Canadian player and scout ) etc. The Legionnaire Alumni is full of current and former N.H.L. stars.

The purpose of The Alumni is to bring back and instill pride on putting on The Legionnaire crest. As part of this is fund raising to support the team and ease the burdon on the parents for costs involved.

The game will be held January 14th with former Flames Brian Skrudland, Ronnie Stern, Marc Habscheid and tentativley Dave " Tiger " Williams and Lanny McDonald. Cost is only $5.00 and if you are a minor hockey player, wear your jersey and be accomponied by an adult and admission is free for the kid. After the game The Flames Alumni and Legionairres Alumni will stay on the ice for a skate with the kids and auto session. It will be good for these minor hockey players to meet and talk with these former N.H.L. greats. In the evening will be a meet and greet for the families and for $10.00 you get a steak dinner and get to go one on one with these former N.H.L. players.
