Ontario Senior A defenceman plays the full 60 minutes in a weekend game
CAMBRIDGE, Ont. (CP) - Chris Wismer didn't take a single shift off over the weekend, literally.
The Cambridge Hornets defenceman played the full 60 minutes Saturday during his team's 6-3 loss to the Petrolia Squires in an Ontario Senior A Major League Hockey game. Wismer, 28, earned an assist and led his team in ice time after goaltender Joe Harris was pulled for an extra attacker in the last minute of the third period.
Squires goalie Darryl Foster was also on the ice for the full 60 minutes.
The six-foot-two, 190-pound Wismer, tied for ninth in Hornets scoring with three goals and eight assists in nine games, has until Thursday to recover, when Cambridge hosts Petrolia in a return match.
Major League Hockey teams compete for berths into the Allan Cup national championship.
