In an effort to assist the local Humane Society, the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings in association with Purina Pro Plan have unveiled plans for the Second Annual Pucks & Pets Contest.
Fans are encouraged to mail or email non-returnable photos of their favorite pets - wearing Wheat Kings' merchandise such as hats, jerseys and t-shirts - to the hockey club at one of the following addresses;
* #2-1175 18th Street, Brandon, R7A 7C5
* email to office@wheatkings.com
All entries should include name of pet, pet owner, address and phone number and / or email address.
Many of the pet photos will be displayed on the hockey club's official web site located at www.wheatkings.com
Willie, the Wheat Kings' mascot will select the top three best-dressed pets, with the owners of the top three to receive ticket party packages to the Wednesday, March 2nd WHL game at the Keystone Centre between Brandon and the Eastern Division leading Saskatoon Blades.
The game will also feature a salute to the Brandon Humane Society.
As well, Pro Plan representatives will be on hand at the March 2nd game to answer questions such as animal nutrition, pet supplies, etc. Pet owners will also have the opportunity to walk away with soem terrific prizes for their furry loved ones.
