Calgary - The Western Hockey League today announced that Ian McDonald of the Tri-City Americans has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for December.
The 19-year-old forward from Edmonton, Alberta, recorded eight goals and 19 points in ten games played during the month of December. McDonald helped lead the Americans to a 5-5 record for the month.
He recorded three power-play goals, a game-winning goal and a plus-minus rating of +7 while collecting only two penalty minutes in December.
McDonald, a free agent, leads the Americans in scoring with 17 goals and 44 points and is currently sixth in WHL scoring.
His accomplishments make Ian McDonald a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for December.
