The WHEAT KINGS and CALGARY HITMEN conclude their unique "tripleheader"
Friday night at the Keystone Centre, with BRANDON hoping to complete a
3-game sweep of their weeklong series.After coming from behind on
Sunday afternoon in Calgary, scoring a 3-2 overtime decision on TIM
KONSORADA'S second goal of the game with just four seconds remaining in the
extra frame, the WHEATS erupted for two unanswered second period goals on
Wednesday to beat the visiting HITMEN 2-1 before 3,902 fans at
Winnipeg's MTS Centre.LANCE MONYCH and JAKUB SINDEL scored on Wednesday for the
WHEAT KINGS, who outshot CALGARY 36-22.MIKE NICHOL was solid between
the pipes for the second straight game to pick up the win.Defenceman
DARYL BOYLE scored BRANDONS other goal on Sunday - midway through the
second period.The win moved BRANDON to within nine points of the Eastern
Division leading SASKATOON BLADES with a record of 26-18-5-1.Despite
Sunday's win, the WHEAT KINGS were outscored 20-7 in going 1-3-0 on their
recent 4-game Alberta road trip.Before heading out west, the WHEATS had
won two of a 3-game home stand including victories over the top two
teams in the Eastern Conference - LETHBRIDGE and SASKATOON.BRANDON is 5-5-0
in it's last ten games.16-6-1-1 at home and 10-12-4 on the road.a
league leading 7-1-5 in overtime and 14-5-0 in nineteen games played with
the city of Winnipeg serving as the WHEATIES "home away from home".

VS. CALGARY: Friday's game will be the fourth and final meeting of the
season between these two teams.BRANDON is 2-0-1 vs. CALGARY this
season.TIM KONSORADA leads the club with six points (2-4-6) in the season
series.During the 2003-04 campaign, BRANDON was 1-3-0 vs.
CALGARY.Steinbach product TYLER HARDER of the HITMEN is a former member of the WHEAT
KINGS while BRANDON'S THERAN YEO is the younger brother of CALGARY'S
newly acquired DYLAN.

FEHR REGAINS SCORING LEAD: WASHINGTON CAPITALS' first round draft
choice ERIC FEHR, who recently captured the MOLSON CUP Second Segment goes
into the weekend with 68 points and the overall WHL scoring lead - two
points up on VANCOUVER'S GILBERT BRULE.FEHR also leads the league with
41 goals.He's managed to score twenty-two goals and 41 points in his
last 29 games and is on pace to reach the 50-goal plateau for the second
straight season. The last WHEAT KING to do that was KELLY GLOWA, who
scored 59 in '81-82 before firing 71 goals the following year.The last
WHEAT KING to win the WHL scoring crown was RAY FERRARO in '83-84.

MILESTONES: PHOENIX COYOTES' draft pick LANCE MONYCH has moved to
within three games of becoming only the sixth WHEAT KING to play in 300
career games for BRANDON. Current assistant coach DWAYNE GYLYWOYCHUK is the
franchise leader with 323.Having played 290 career games, captain TIM
KONSORADA has moved to within two games of BRETT THURSTON and seventh
place on the club's all time list.Right-winger ERIC FEHR, who recently
played in his 250th career WHL game, tied the WHL record set by former
REGINA PAT FRANK KOVACS in 1990-91 with four overtime game winning goals
in January.During the club's recent Alberta road swing, rookies DARYL
BOYLE and SAMI SANDELL scored their first ever WHL goals.

DID YOU KNOW: BRANDON'S powerplay (22.1%) leads the WHL while it's
penalty killing, which is currently working at 83.4% efficiency, is 12th in
the league entering weekend play.ERIC FEHR leads the WHL with 20
powerplay tallies.FEHR was chosen BRANDON'S winner of the JACK FRASER PLAYER
OF THE MONTH after leading the club with seven goals and 15 points in
January.Defenceman STEVEN LATER is fourth in WHL scoring among
defenceman with 39 points.BRANDON'S 7 overtime wins this season is two shy of
the league record, set by PORTLAND in 1989-90.Friday's game is STUDENT
