Mueller, Fiala, Calla and Irving Ready for Top Prospects Game

Fiala wins fastest skater test
Everett, WA - With the Everett Silvertips off until Friday night the focus turns to Ottawa, Ontario for the 2006 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game on Wednesday night. Four Everett Silvertips are taking part in the big event with goaltender Leland Irving and forward Ondrej Fiala on Team Bobby Orr while forwards Peter Mueller and Brady Calla suit up for Team Don Cherry. Last night the prospects held the NHL skills testing session at Scotiabank Center in Ottawa and Ondrej Fiala won the fastest skater competition with a time of 14.397 seconds. Peter Mueller also tested well by finishing 2nd in the 60' dash at 2.808 seconds. Leland Irving also was impressive in the skills competition by stopping all 9 breakaways he faced to help Team Orr win the skillis competition 15-13 over Team Cherry. In other Silvertips news, the hockey club is getting ready for a big weekend at the Everett Events Center as the Silvertips host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday night and the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.

SILVERTIPS LEADING SCORERS
The Silvertips are led in scoring by John Lammers (23 goals, 25 assists) with 48 points. The Langley, BC native also leads the hockey club in goals scored (23) and power play goals (9). Defenseman Shaun Heshka (9 goals, 33 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 42 points and leads the team in assists (33). Peter Mueller (18 goals, 23 assists) is 3rd on the Silvertips in scoring with 41 points. Forward Zach Hamill (13 goals, 19 assists) is the team leader in +/- with a +12 rating. Goaltender Leland Irving currently has posted 24 wins and recorded a 1.97 GAA, .923 SP and 3 Shutouts this season.

SILVERTIPS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS
Goaltender Leland Irving is currently ranked 3rd in the WHL in Wins (24), 4th in GAA (1.97), 3rd in SP (.923) and tied for 4th in Shutouts (3). Defenseman Shaun Heshka leads all WHL defensemen in scoring with 42 points and is 4th in the WHL in assists (33). Forward Peter Mueller is 2nd among all WHL Rookies in scoring with 41 points while John Lammers is tied for 10th in the WHL in scoring with 48 points.

SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS
The Everett Silvertips are 1st in the WHL on the power play (53 for 260, 20.38%) and 5th on the penalty kill (185 for 215, 86.05%).

SILVERTIPS FRANCHISE REACHING 100 WIN PLATEAU
The Everett Silvertips franchise currently has 95 franchise victories in their two plus seasons in the WHL and are 5 wins away from reaching win #100 in franchise history. In recent WHL expansion history it took the Vancouver Giants, Calgary Hitmen and the Red Deer Rebels to reach the 100 win mark in their 4th season in the WHL.

SINGLE SEASON RECORDS ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN
Forward John Lammers is 3 goals away from breaking the club record for most goals in one season and 10 points away from breaking the record for most points in a single season. Currently John Dahl and Torrie Wheat hold the Silvertips record for most goals in a season with 25. Wheat also holds the single season record for most points in a season with 57. Defenseman Shaun Heshka is 3 assists away of breaking the single season record for most assists in a season. The Silvertips club record is held by Alex Leavitt who recorded 35 assists last season.

The Silvertips are currently 2-1 against the Thunderbirds this season and 1-0 vs. Seattle at the Everett Events Center. The Silvertips are 11-9-4 (ties) all time against the T-Birds in franchise history. Everett is also 9-2-1 (tie) all time against Seattle at the Everett Events Center.

VERSUS THE VANCOUVER GIANTS
The Silvertips are 3-1 against the Giants this season and 1-0 vs. Vancouver at the Everett Events Center. Currently Everett is 6-8-2 (OT losses) all time against the Giants and 3-3-1 (OT loss) all time at the Everett Events Center against the Giants.

SILVERTIPS VS SILVERTIPS AT CHL TOP PROSPECTS GAME
Irving and Fiala will Face Off Against Calla and Mueller

Everett, WA - The CHL announced the teams for the 2006 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game earlier today. The Everett Silvertips who have four participants playing in the elite contest will be split apart for the game in Ottawa, Ontario. Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving and forward Ondrej Fiala will play for Team Bobby Orr and forwards Peter Mueller and Brady Calla will suit up for Team Don Cherry. The game will be held on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa at 4:00 p.m. (PST).

The Silvertips along with the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) have the most players playing in the contest with four players. The NHL's 30 teams select the 40 players who participate in the game. More than 375 players have suited up in the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and gone on to be selected in the NHL entry draft. The game has featured five players who were the first overall picks in the NHL entry draft ÷ Chris Phillips (1996), Joe Thornton (1997), Vincent Lecavalier (1998), Rick Nash (2002) and Marc-Andre Fleury (2003).
