Although Brandon let the game slip away in Saskatoon,they did manage a point against the East Division leaders.As Brandon closed out the game Wednesday night in PA they realized it was a big 2 days in Saskatchewan.With a depleated line-up which saw Sandell,Lenoski,Hunter,Strautman and Plante all trying to heal up and Burki at the prospects game,they managed to vault even with the Prince Albert Raiders for the final playoff spot with Brandon having one game in hand.After Brandon skated off the ice at the Art Hauser Centre with a 4-3 win,in the lockeroom they realized that fellow teammate Coday Burki was named the player of the game for Team Orr at the Top Prospects game in Ottawa,which was a double win for Brandon on Wednesday night.
Brandon played a very solid game for the first 2 periods and one crappy period in the third but they held on thanks to a great performance by Jory who was carried off on a stretcher the previous night in Saskatoon.Brandon takes 3 of 4 points in Saskatchewan and head home ready to face the SC Broncos as the Wheaties put their 5 game home winning streak on the line.
I have been so impressed with the progress this team is making.Players such as Dittmer,Clark,Jory,Aulie,Courchene,Topilko,Hallick just to name a few.Everyone is playing with confidence and are really coming together and playing as a unit.In hind sight the future of this team doesn't look so bad..we may have a gem here next season.With additions of Sanfred King,Green,Lockerby,Hale,Grill and others next season we could have a great competative team with the emergance of some of the players this year.
