Everett Silvertips Press Release

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips snap their three game losing streak and bounce back in a big 6-1 win over the Tri-City Americans. This was meeting number eight of ten and the Silvertips lead the series 6-1-1. They are also undefeated at home at the Events Center against the Americans with five victories. Everett continues to climb in the point category. The team has accumulated 59 points and a 28-17-2-1 record, good enough for first place in the US Division. Tri-Cities, holding down the number four spot, has 44 points and a 19-21-3-3 history.

Everett's special team units dictated the flow of the game. John Lammers, at 7:30 of the first period on a power play, took a slap shot from the top right circle to make it 1-0. Ondrej Fiala pushed the Silvertips up 2-0 on a power play at 2:30 of the second session when he caught a pass through the crease and tipped in it. At 10:06 the Americans closed the deficit by one when Juraj Gracik put a puck in the net on a Tri-Cities power play. Then Fiala struck again at 16:34 when his shot was deflected into the net by an American player. Everett closed out the second 3-1.

In the final period Everett took off and never looked back. Zack Dailey earned an unassisted, short-handed goal after he had short breakaway. Then Zach Hamill topped off Everett's scoreboard with two power play goals at 9:39 and 12:09. His first shot came from the left circle and hit the cross bar and dropped into the net while his second occurred during a 4 on 3 situation. Posting assists for the night for the Silvertips were Shaun Heshka with three, Torrie Wheat with two, and Zach Hamill, Brady Calla and Jason Fransoo all with one a piece.

Leland Irving earned his 25th win for the season. This breaks the franchise record for most wins in a season, previously held by both Jeff Harvey (03-04) and Mike Wall (04-05) with 24 wins.
