Vancouver Giants forward Mitch Bartley is the CHL Player of the Week


Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Vancouver Giants forward Mitch Bartley is the CHL Player of the Week.

Bartley was named the CHL's Player of the Week after scoring four goals and seven points in four road games last week. Bartley posted a plus four mark while the Giants went 3-1-0-0 on the road trip. Bartley improved his season totals to 25 goals and 53 points, good for the team lead in both categories. Bartley's best game came in a 5-1 win over the Kootenay Ice where the Giants forward contributed two goals and an assist in a 5-1 win. The Giants passed over the Ice in the standings last week and currently lead the BC Division.

Steve Downie of the Peterborough Petes was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and eight points in three games including a hat-trick and five point night over the Oshawa Generals on January 26. Alexander Radulov of the Quebec Remparts was the QMJHL's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring five goals and 12 points in four contests. Radulov now has 93 points in 39 games this season and sits third in the QMJHL scoring race. Ryan Mior of the PEI Rocket was the QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Week after collecting three wins while posting a goals against average of 2.33 and a save percentage of .932.
