Brandon, Manitoba -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings "Turned back the Clock" Friday night at the Keystone Centre, using some late game heroics to score a come from behind 2-1 victory over the visiting Swift Current Broncos before 3,200 fans at the Keystone Centre.

Trailing 1-0, Swedish left-winger John Wikner - who was wearing #17 in honour of former Wheat Kings' tough guy Dave Semenko - sent a shot from his off-wing between the legs of Broncos' netminder Kyle Moir to tie the game with just over two minute remaining in regulation time.

In overtime, veteran center Jeff Topilko beat Moir on a breakaway at the 1:24 mark, giving Brandon the victory and snapping a 3-game winless streak for the Wheat Kings. It also kept Brandon two points up on Prince Albert in the WHL's Eastern Division as the Raiders defeated Red Deer 3-2 Friday night.

The game featured the Wheat Kings in their popular '70's jerseys, made famous by the likes of Semenko, Brad McCrimmon, Bill Derlago and the club's all time leading scorer Brian Propp.

Brandon wore the new "old" duds in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, who sold the jerseys to local businesses to help kick off "Heart Month" throughout Manitoba. The jerseys were presented to the twenty-four sponsors during a special post-game jersey exchange on the ice.

The Wheat Kings, who host their annual Sportsman's Dinner Saturday night in the Keystone Centre's UCT Pavillion, now have several days off before opening up a 2-game series with the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Tickets are on sale now at the MTS Centre box office, by calling 780-3333 or on line at ticketmaster.ca
