After watching last night's game I think the Tips should rest Wheat for the next two games. Even in the win, Wheat was hobbling around the Ice and had to leave no less than three times due to that ankle.

The Tips have Spokane Friday & Portland Saturday, then they don't play again until a bog game with the T-birds on Friday the 24th. Starting with that Seattle game they have 4 games in 5 nights, all U.S. Division games. Two againts Portland, one against Tri and one versus Seattle.

By giving Wheat the Two game soff Friday and Saturday night, he can get NINE days worth of rest before the 4 in 5 kicks in. With the team getting Semi-healthy now, it would be a good opportunity to let him get a little rest as we head into the home stretch. Wheat is too important to this team to have him hobble all the way to the finih line.

I just re-checked the schedule and it's not 4 games in 5 nights....it's 5 games in 6 nights, a one game break, then a three game weekend making it really 8 games in 10 nights.

3 - portland
1 - Tri
3 - Seattle
1 - Kelowna

That is even MORE of a reason to let Wheat get nine days rest heading into that stretch.

On a side note: Calla's goal last night was the first goal he's registered in 33 games....wow!

Tough schedule, probably not a bad idea.

Maybe keep him in the lineup but only give him 4th line minutes 5-5, no penalty killing, and then send him out for the PP, depending on other injuries etc with the team.
