BRULE NAMED GREYHOUND WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Calgary - The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is forward Gilbert Brule of the Vancouver Giants. Brule earned player of the week honours by recording five goals and ten points in three games, including two power-play goals and two game-winning goals during the week of February 13th to February 19th. Brule also had a plus-minus rating of +4 and was named the game’s 1st Star in all three games while helping the Giants to a perfect 3-0 record for the week.

On Wednesday, February 15th, Brule scored two goals and added three assists in an 8-3 road win against the Spokane Chiefs. On Friday, February 17th, Brule recorded two goals and added an assist in a 5-0 shutout road win against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

On Saturday, February 18th, Brule scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 4-1 victory against the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds.

Brule, a 19-year-old native of North Vancouver, British Columbia was drafted in the 1st round, 6th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Deserved it. Great player. Impressed with his grit as well, unlike Mueller who seems to float like a certain big league vancouver player. ;)

No Double Double though...
Bourret takes it form Brule...

The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Shawinigan Cataractes forward Alex Bourret is the CHL Player of the Week.

Bourret was named the CHL Player of the Week after scoring nine goals including two game-winners in four games last week. The Cataractes sniper also contributed five assists and maintained a plus three rating. Bourret is currently fourth in the QMJHL in scoring with 105 points. Bourret's best game came on Wednesday when he collected a hat-trick including the game-winner in a 4-3 victory over the Gatineau Olympiques.

Gotta love this.....
after only 17 games played... Brule has moved up to fourth is this season's Goal scoring streaks...
He's also found himself in 13th in Insurance Goals..31st in first Goals, and 9th in GWG....
Way to go Brule........

Well, a Double after all....

Brule is WHL Player of the Month for February...

The 19-year-old forward from North Vancouver, British Columbia recorded 12 goals and 23 points in 13 games played during the month of February. Brule helped lead the Giants to a 10-2-0-1 record for the month. The Giants lead the WHL Western Conference with 92 points and are only one point out of 1st place overall in the Western Hockey League.

Brule recorded three power-play goals, four game-winning goals and a plus-minus rating of +6 in February.

Brule, who was also the Greyhound WHL Player of the Week during the week of February 13th to February 19th, was drafted in the 1st round, 6th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

His accomplishments make Gilbert Brule a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for February.
