Bud Holloway's goal at the 2:51 mark of the first period proved crucial as Seattle's Bryan Bridges collected his 21st career shutout, adding to his WHL record that was matched by Calgary Hitmen goalie Justin Pogge after Pogge collected three shutouts last week.

Seattle's 1-0 victory over Tri-City on Sunday in front of 4,028 at KeyArena kept the T-Birds (28-25-1-4) four points ahead of the Americans (25-26-4-3) for second place behind the division-leading Everett Silvertips.

With 14 games left on the schedule, Seattle is clinging to second place, after having on eye on first-place Everett last week. Trailing by seven points entering play against the Silvertips on Wednesday, Seattle has since fallen 11 points behind.

"We were looking at first place and all of a sudden Tri is right on our tails for second," Seattle's Chris Durand said. "Getting down the stretch every point is important, so this was big in terms of keeping home-ice advantage."

Seattle plays against Tri-City again Wednesday night at KeyArena, with home games against Everett on Friday and the Kelowna Rockets on Sunday sandwiching a road contest Saturday against Kamloops.
