boy is this kid something or what!, he is 15 years old, and isn't even eligible till the 2009 NHL entry draft. And as a 15 year old he has put up 39 goals, 26 assists for 65 points in only 54 games. The only knock on the kid is his plus/minus which is currently at a -10. I can only imagine how good he will be come his draft year

Saw him at the Under-17's. He is damn good for being 15. And his +/- probably sucks because he plays on the worst team in the league...I think.

I have to agree. He was the best player on team Ontario and possibly the best player in the whole tourney. Only having a -10 rating on a team that has allowed 283 goals and has 15 wins in 57 games is awesome (although they have scored 203). Very hard to complain with a kid that is only 15 he will only get better.

A note about another U-17 "star": Angelo Esposito (16 years old) Stats 47GP 36G 51A 87PTS 37PIM +39.
Impressive stats for the youngster (who I thought was a puck hog at the U-17's). But he also plays for a team that is 45-12-0-1.

Not too many 16 yr old make WJ's, but I would think he's a lock in December? If Spezza, Crosby and Boumeester made it at 16, I would think Tavares could?

I wouldn't say he's a lock for the WJ's but he should give some of the older guys a run for their money. Esposito should have a major look for the WJ's he has a lot of skill and seems to make the most of his opportunities. If I had a choice between Esposito (will be 17) and Tavares (from what I have seen of the both of them) I think I would have take Tavares, to me he is the more complete player.
