Tuesday, February 21st
- Practice 2:15 p.m. Pengrowth Saddledome
- Coke Autograph Session from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Sobeys in Riverbend (8338 18th Street SE). Join Hitmen Brett Sonne and Alex Plante.
- Enmax Rinklighter Pond Hockey at Glamorgan Community Association (4207 – 41 avenue SW) from 6 to 8 p.m. Join 2 Hitmen players and Farley the Fox. Autographs to follow on-ice session.

Wednesday, February 22nd
- Practice 1:30 p.m. Father David Bauer Arena (2424 University Drive NW).
- Petro-Canada Practice with the Hitmen 7 to 8 p.m. at Ernie Starr Arena (4808 – 14th Ave SE). Hitmen Ryan White and Mike Reich help run a Pee Wee Practice and then sign autographs.

Thursday, February 23rd
- Bus departs for Prairie Road Trip at 12:30 p.m. from Pengrowth Saddledome.

Friday, February 24th
- ROAD GAME at Regina. Radio Broadcast on Fan 960 starts at 6:00 p.m. Season series tied 1-1.

Saturday, February 25th
- ROAD GAME at Brandon. Radio Broadcast on Fan 960 starts at 6:00 p.m. Calgary is 3-0 against the Wheat Kings.

Sunday, February 26th
- ROAD GAME at Moose Jaw. Radio Broadcast on Fan 960 starts at 5:30 p.m. Hitmen have won 2 of 3 meetings.

GAMES NOTES FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH AT REGINA

TEAM NEWS;

HITMEN HEADLINES: Calgary plays 3 games in 3 nights starting tonight in Regina. The Hitmen are coming off Sunday’s 3-1 loss in Medicine Hat. The Tigers struck for a goal in each period before Ryan White got Calgary on the board with 2:55 remaining. Medicine Hat outshot the Hitmen 28-24. Brett Robertson led the way with a goal and an assist. The Hitmen are 43-16-2-0, good for 88 points. That’s tops in the Central Division by 1 point over Medicine Hat, but even with Vancouver for number one overall.

VS REGINA: Tonight is the 3rd of 4 meetings with the Pats. The season series is tied 1-1. October 16th in Regina; Pats 5 Hitmen 3. Kyle Ross 2 goals. January 24th in Calgary; Hitmen 2 Pats 0. Justin Pogge 27 save shutout. Series special teams; Calgary PP 2-12, Pats PP 1-7. Their next meeting is March 10th in Calgary.

POGGE BREAKS TWO FRANCHISE RECORDS: Justin Pogge broke two records last weekend. He had a shutout streak of 228 minutes and 47 seconds, breaking the old mark of 168:12 set by Barry Brust in 2004. Pogge also became the first goalie in franchise history to record three consecutive shutouts.

SHUTOUT HOCKEY: The Hitmen have been involved in 18 shutouts this season, blanking the opposition 11 times, while being held off the score sheet 7 times themselves.

40 WIN SEASON: Calgary’s 43 wins is the third most in franchise history. The Hitmen won 51 in ‘98/’99, but the club record is 58 set in ‘99/2000.

ROAD WARRIORS: The Hitmen are second in road wins with 20. Vancouver leads the league with 22.

SPECIAL TEAMS: The Hitmen powerplay went 0-8 Sunday in Medicine Hat. Overall it’s 12th in the WHL 56-340 16.4%. The penalty kill was 6 for 8. Overall Calgary has given up 47 goals on 350 chances, number 3 in the WHL at 86.6%.

CHL TOP 10: Calgary is ranked 3rd in the Canadian Hockey League this week, that’s up two spots. It’s the 17th time in 18 weeks they’ve been recognized. Other WHL teams to crack the rankings include Medicine Hat at number 5, Vancouver 7 and Moose Jaw 8. Memorial Cup host Moncton Wildcats are number one.

STINGY D: The Hitmen have surrendered the fewest goals of any teams in the WHL (126). They are on pace for 149 against. That would shatter the franchise record of 182 set in 1999/2000.

NAIL BITTERS: The Hitmen are 20-7-2 in one goal games this season…..29 of their 61 games or 48 percent have been decided by one goal.

PLAYER NEWS;

WHO’S HOT? Brodie Dupont has 31 points (18+13=31) in his last 35 games. Derek LeBlanc has points in 10 of his 20 games as a Hitmen (6+7=13). Ryan White has points in 6 of his last 9 games (5+4=9). Brett Carson has points in 2 of his last 3 (1+1=2).

CAREER WATCH: Craig Lineker played his 100 career game Sunday in Medicine Hat.

WHL Top 10: Justin Pogge leads the league with a 1.64 Goals Against Average. He also has the best Save Percentage at 92.9 and the most shutouts with 11. He’s second in wins with 35. Freddie Pettersson is 8th in Rookie scoring with 38 points. Brett Carson is 10th in defencemen scoring with 36 points.

DID YOU KNOW? Calgary’s leading scorer Ryan White is actually tied for 39th overall in the WHL scoring race with 45 points.

POGGE’S SHUOUT RECORDS: Justin Pogge has snapped 2 shutout records this season. He has 13 career shutouts with the Hitmen, breaking the old record of 5 set by Brent Krahn from ‘98-’02. His 11 shutouts this season snaps the single season mark of 4 previously shared by Scott Bowles ’04-’05, Brent Krahn ’99-’00, and Alexandre Fomitchev ’98-’99.

NHL DRAFT RANKINGS: In Central Scouting’s Mid-Season rankings Peter Mueller of Everett is the WHL’s number 1 prospect, 5th among North American skaters. Hitmen forward Ryan White is number 22 and played in the 2006 Home Hardware CHL – NHL Top Prospects in Ottawa. He scored once helping Team Orr thump Team Cherry 7-2. Keegan Dansereau is also turning heads, ranked 98th among North American skaters. U-S-A defenceman Erik Johnson is the number one prospect, while right winger Michael Frolik of the Czech Republic is the top ranked European.

DRAFTED PLAYERS: The Hitmen have 6 NHL picks ...Jeff Schultz-(1st round Washington 2004), Brodie Dupont-(3rd round NY Rangers 2005), Justin Pogge-(3rd round Toronto 2003), Brett Carson-(4th round Carolina 2004), Freddie Pettersson-(5th round Edmonton 2005) Lukas Vantuch-(6th round Boston 2005).
