Tri-City Americans Game Notes for February 26th
February 26, 2006
The Last Time
The Tri-City Americans (27-28-4-3, 61 points, third place in the U.S. Division) had a two-game winning streak snapped as the Kelowna Rockets skated to a 4-3 win at Toyota Center last night before 5,202 fans. Matt Schneider (21, 22) scored twice as the Americans battled from a two goal deficit in the third period to make thing interesting. Juraj Gracik tallied a shorthanded goal (22) in the second period to give the Americans a short lived 1-0 lead. The Rockets would tally three times in a 1:20 span of the second to take the lead for good on goals by Justin Keller, Chris Ray and Kirt Hill. Keller would score twice (44, 45) and earned first star honors. Carey Price was solid making 32 saves in net. The teams ended regular season play splitting the four game series 2-all.

Americans vs. Everett
The Americans are 3-5-0-1 in the 10-game season series between the team and 3-1 at Toyota Center. Tonight is the final meeting of the campaign between these two U.S. Division rivals. Tri-City is 9-5-1 lifetime at home again Everett. Logan Stephenson leads the Americans in scoring with two goals, six points in nine games. The Americans power play is 5-40, 12.5%. Penalty killing is 11-65, 78.5%.
