The Last Time
The Tri-City Americans (18-24-5-3, 44 points, 5th in the U.S. Division) won for the third time in four tries this season against the visiting Prince George Cougars 4-0 last night before 2,926 fans in the Three Rivers Coliseum. Americans captain Marcus Jonasen (16,17) led the way with two goals. Clayton Stoner (8) had one goal and one assist while Marc Connors (7) added a single. Matt Schneider and Dylan Stanley each had two assists. Carey Price made 18 saves for his sixth shutout of the season. The Americans launched 45 shots on Prince George netminder Scott Bowles including a season-high 22 in the second period. He would see 38 shots over the last 40 minutes of play. The Americans were 2-5 on the power play while holding the Cougars 0-4 with the man advantage on the evening. With the victory the Americans are now .500 against B.C. Division teams (5-5-2).

Americans vs. Spokane
The Americans are 2-4-1-1 against the Chiefs this year in the 12-game season series between these archrivals and are 1-1-1 in the Spokane Arena. The last time the clubs met the teams skated to a 4-all tie in the Lilac City on January 22nd. The Americans trailed 4-1 in the third period and would rally for the tie on a Shawn Belle tally with just five seconds remaining in regulation time. The Americans are led in series scoring by Ian McDonald with six goals, eight points in eight games. Clayton Stoner has two goals, six points in six contests. Spokane has outscored the Americans 26-21 and has out shot them 268-254 in the eight -game series. Tri-City is 8-40, 20% on the power play and have killed off 41 of 48 Spokane man advantage opportunities good for a 85.4% kill ratio. The teams will meet again on Saturday, February 19th in the Three Rivers Coliseum at 7:05 pm.

Kolzig Departs For Germany
Americans goaltending consultant Olaf Kolzig has departed the Tri-Cities to join Eisbaren Berlin of the German League for the remainder of the season and the playoffs. He’s now one of 374 NHL players under contract to professional clubs overseas.

Last night Price set the franchise record of seven shutouts in a career.
