The Western Hockey League today announced that Moose Jaw Warriors right-winger Troy Brouwer has captured the Bob Clarke Trophy as the WHL's Top Scorer.

Brouwer nabbed the WHL scoring title by tallying 49 goals and 102 points this season. Brouwer’s last season in the WHL was his best, as he doubled his totals from the previous season.

Brouwer, a 20-year-old product of Delta, British Columbia, becomes the first Warrior to capture the Bob Clarke Trophy since the 1987-88 season when former Warrior Theoren Fleury tied former Swift Current Bronco great Joe Sakic for the WHL scoring title with 160 points each.

The 6'2, 212-pound winger was second in the WHL in goals scored with 49, 2nd in assists with 53, tied for 2nd in game-winning goals with nine, tied for 2nd in short-handed goals with six, and 2nd in plus-minus with a +37 rating. Brouwer also recorded 12 power-play goals enroute to the scoring title.

Brouwer’s outstanding season also included being named the Husky WHL Player of the Month for September/October and the Greyhound WHL Player of the Week for the week of Feb 5th to 12th.

Brouwer, who was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft recorded 103 goals and 219 points in 287 games, all with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Bob Clarke captured the League Scoring title in both years he played in the Western Hockey League with the Flin Flon Bombers. In 1967-68, he recorded 51 goals and 168 points in 59 games, and in 1968-69, he scored 51 goals and 137 points in 58 games. In 1968-69, Clarke led the Bombers to victory in the WHL Championship.

Clarke went on to play 15 seasons with the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers. He won two Stanley Cups, three Hart Memorial Trophies as the NHL’s MVP, the Bill Masterton Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey and the Selke Trophy as the NHL’s top defensive forward.
