Molson and Labatt are at lagerheads again and if it isn't resolved soon, London could lose the Memorial Cup hockey tournament. And in a worst-case scenario, the Knights would be removed as host team.

Molson is a major sponsor of the May 21-29 tourney at the John Labatt Centre.

Each side is claiming foul.

You'd think they would have worked this out BEFORE they awarded the tourny to London.

It'll never happen.

It's all a game of brinksmanship on the part of the beer companies.

So one beer company has the "naming rights" to the arena, and has rights to sell its brand name within (plus advertising signs), and has offered to

The other company has the "naming rights" to the tournament, and is using that to get its beer sold within the rights of another firm or force the move of the game.

Labatt spokesperson Bob Chant said yesterday his company offered a compromise that would allow both breweries to sell draft and bottled beer. He said Labatt is also willing to cover its signage inside the seating area.

Molsons should agree to that "compromise", or face looking "unsportsmanlike" if they do force the tournament moved.

Wow, you posted this on February 7th and yet they announced that the issue was completely settled at a press conference on February 5th.

So you're just a bit behind the times, no?

Fair enough, but it's annoying for those of us with our tickets bought and paid for to keep hearing stuff like this a week after the issue has been settled.

This is also a WHL site, not an OHL site, how many OHL fans are regulars on this site?, I'm sure the dub fans on here like to here about things, even if it happened a week ago. I had no idea till just now that it was resolved (terms of agreement????).

Besides, if you look at the news media, London lossing the tournament is big news, them settling the issue(s), not that big of a news story.
