The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Saskatoon Blades goaltender Anton Khudobin is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday March 26 after helping his club get off to a 2-0 series lead over the Regina Pats.
Khudobin, a 19-year-old native of Magnitogorsk, Russia posted a goals against average of 1.41 and a save percentage of .957 last week. Game 1 saw Khudobin stop 28 of 30 shots including four saves in overtime as the Blades came out on top by a score of 3-2. Game 2 Khudobin put on an even better show this time stopping 39 of 40 shots as the Blades won this game by a score of 4-1. The series now heads south to Regina tonight for Game 3.
Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
