Saskatoon SK ---- The Regina Pats will host the Saskatoon Blades in Game Six of their best-of-seven, first-round playoff series on Tuesday night at Brandt Centre, after defeating the Blades 5 - 2 on Friday night in Saskatoon. Saskatoon leads the series 3 – 2.

Tickets for Game Six will go on sale at the Brandt Centre Box Office on Saturday, April 1st, beginning at 10:00AM, or by calling 781-9300.

The Regina Pats played a solid road game in Saskatoon on Friday night with the season in the balance, defeating the host Blades 5 - 2 in front of a Credit Union Centre crowd of 7,720 to force Game Six in Regina on Tuesday night.

Curtis Hunt's squad came out with a spirited effort right from the beginning setting the tone with a physical start to the game with key body-checks from Jordan Fuder & Craig Schira. Garrett Festerling paced the Pats offensively scoring two goals and adding an assist being named the first-star of the game.

Justin Berhardt opened the scoring 4:07 into the opening period after pouncing on a rebound in front of the Blades goal. Craig Schira & Garrett Festerling had the assists.

Just over a minute after the Berhardt goal Kyle Ross zinged a wrist-shot past Khudobin. Twenty-year-old forwards Denis Tolpeko & Matt Robinson had the assists.

David Reekie made a point-blank stop on Blades veteran Chad Klassen midway through the period to keep the Pats two-goal lead heading top the first intermission.

Shots on goal were tied 13 - 13 in the opening twenty minutes.

Chad Klassen scored a power-play goal 12:06 into the second period to draw the Blades within a goal. Ryan Funk & Justin McCrae had the assists.

The game opened up following Klassen's goal with both teams generating a number of chances. Logan Pyett restored the Pats two-goal lead with 5:59 remaining in the period when his point-shot was deflected by Blades defenceman Brett Ward past Khudobin. Robinson picked up his second assist of the game on the play.

The Blades outshot Regina 20 - 16 in the second period.

Festerling sniped his second goal of the series roofing a shot past Khudobin after receiving a dandy pass from Justin Bernhardt who was behind the Blades net. Logan Pyett had the other helper on the play.

Joe Logan's low driving shot beat Reekie at the 11:25 mark. Klassen & Zdenek Bahensky had the assists.

Festerling's second of the game came with 4:40 remaining after Colten Teubert's point-shot went wide but bounced on the assistant captain's stick at the side of the Blades net.

David Reekie made fourty-eight saves in the victory. Anton Khudobin made twenty-eight saves in defeat.

The Pats were 1/5 on the power-play. Saskatoon was 2/6 with the man-advantage.

Kyle Deck left the game with a leg injury after blocking a shot midway through the final period and did not return.

Eighteen-year-old forward Michael Senseman made his series debut after missing the first four games with a virus which has plagued the team since the final weekend of the regular season.
