WHL Announces Dates and Times of the Kelowna vs. Everett series

+ Enlarge The Western Hockey League today announced the opening dates at times of the WHL KALTIRE WESTERN CONFERENCE Semi-Final Match-up between the defending WHL Champions, Kelowna Rockets and the 2005-2006 U.S. Division Champions, Everett Silvertips.

The best-of-seven series begins Friday, April 7 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC at 7:00 p.m.

The 2006 Western Conference Semi-Final schedule is listed as follows:

Game #1: Friday, April 7, Everett Silvertips @ Kelowna Rockets, 7:00 p.m.
Game #2: Sunday, April 9, Everett Silvertips @ Kelowna Rockets, 5:00 p.m.
Game #3: Tuesday, April 11, Kelowna Rockets @ Everett Silvertips, 7:05 p.m.
Game #4: Wednesday, April 12, Kelowna Rockets @ Everett Silvertips, 7:05 p.m.
Game #5: Friday, April 14, Everett Silvertips @ Kelowna Rockets, 7:00 p.m.*
Game #6: Sunday, April 16, Kelowna Rockets @ Everett Silvertips, 5:05 p.m.*

Game 6 is now scheduled for 6:05pm start time.

Despite the excitement of a game 6, if the series goes that far, that could very easily be one of the emptiest games of the year in the arena. A 6:05 pm start on Easter Sunday will keep a lot of people away.

We played a home game on Easter the first year and it was actually quite full. People just plan an early dinner and then head out to the game. That's what we will do!!

True Kristi. The only thing I would say is, that first year we didn't have any Friday night playoff games only drawing 4600 people. I think this year is different for some reason. The fans jsut aren't coming out for the playoffs. Maybe it will change in Rd 2 if the series is a good one. Who knows. I can't figure it out. I know I'll have 6 people there becaus emy mom and family are coming up from CA for a week.
