Josh Harding's NHL career officially begins on Tuesday night vs. St. Louis.
Josh Harding has said and done all the right things since he was called up by the Minnesota Wild on March 8. On Tuesday night, he'll get to do what he's been waiting for nearly a month to do.

Wild head coach Jacques Lemaire confirmed that Harding will make his NHL debut between the pipes on Tuesday night when the Wild hosts the St. Louis Blues at the Xcel Energy Center. At 7:07 PM tomorrow night, Harding will be the first Wild goaltender not named Fernandez or Roloson to start a game since Dieter Kochan was the losing netminder in a 5-1 loss to Edmonton on January 29, 2003.

Harding said he'll have trouble sleeping Monday night, but he's thrilled to be getting his first opportunity.

"It's an exciting day," said Harding. "It's the day I've been waiting for my whole life. You only get one first impression so hopefully the game goes well for me."

"It's good for the organization and for him," said Lemaire. "We wanted to keep Manny in there as much as possible to show him how it is to be first. We're very pleased with his reaction and now it's time to see what Josh can do."

Harding was drafted by Minnesota in the second round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent the last two seasons with the Houston Aeros, including this year, when he was 27-8-0 before he was called up.

Way to go Josh! Well deserved. A 27-8-0 record, 2.64 GAA and .923 SV% in the AHL must mean something. Hopefully he can show the Minnesota fans what he's worth. :thumb:

It looked like he was wearing his old equipment from the wheat kings..I noticed his pads and gloves were brownish???....Probably his AHL Team colors though...lol

No, I heard on The Score that those are new vintage throwback pads. I liked the look. Did you see his helmet, with all the old goalies' masks? He got his first win, hopefully the first of many.
