Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Everett Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday April 16 after helping the Silvertips defeat the Kelowna Rockets and move on the WHL Western Conference finals.

Irving, a 17-year-old native of Swan Hills, Alberta posted a goals against average of 1.57 and a save percentage of .950 last week. Irving stopped all 41 shots he faced in Game 3 as the Silvertips defeated the Rockets by a score of 2-0. Irving followed that up with another strong performance in Game 4 when he stopped 30 shots in a 3-2 win. Game 5 was the lone loss for Irving and the Silvertips over the course of the week as they fell to the Rockets in double-overtime by a score of 3-2. Game 6 was another strong performance for Irving as he posted 23 saves in a 6-2 win to help the Silvertips advance and face the Vancouver Giants in the Western Conference final.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
