This afternoon The Regina Pats announced that they will be
wearing a patch on all of their jerseys for the remainder of the season to
honour Regina Pats legend Bob Turner. Turner passed away on Monday, at the
age of 71.

Turner spent his entire junior career with the Pats prior to joining the
Montreal Canadiens, where he won five straight Stanley Cups from 1956 -
1960. The six-time NHL All-Star returned to the Pats as Head Coach for
eight seasons, guiding the team to the Memorial Cup Championship in 1974.

The patch will have the initials "BT" with the # 74, recognizing Turner's
accomplishment of guiding the Pats to the 1974 Memorial Cup Championship.

"Bob was a true Regina sport legend and has played an integral part in the
history of the Regina Pats franchise. Wearing the jersey patch with his
initials is a small way in which we can honour his great contributions to
our organization. Our thoughts go out to the Turner family during this
difficult time," commented Pats GM, Brent Parker.

The Pats will also honour Turner with a moment of silence prior to the start
of Wednesday's game vs. Lethbridge.

I was going to mention this yesterday. Sad day for the Pats and hockey fans.
