The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Moose Jaw Warriors goaltender Joey Perricone is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday April 23 after helping the Moose Jaw Warriors win Game 7 and move past the Calgary Hitmen and then defeat Medicine Hat in the first two games of the WHL Eastern Conference finals.
Perricone an 18-year-old native of San Juan Capistrano, California posted a goals against average of 1.99 and a save percentage of .935 last week. Perricone recorded 28 saves a 3-1 road win in Game 7 of the best-of-seven series against the Calgary Hitmen. In Game 1 of the WHL Eastern Conference finals, Perricone made 31 saves in a 3-2 road win against the Medicine Hat Tigers. Perricone had another strong showing in Game 2 stopping 27 shots in a 4-3 overtime road win in Game 2 against the Tigers.
Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
