View Full Version : Mock Draft, anyone?

Trav

Not sure how well it'd work on here but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing an NHL mock draft for two rounds before the real NHL draft is done? If interested then just respond by saying which team you'd want.

So far instance, Id be the Canucks GM.

I'll try and post the draft order of the first round (and 2nd round if I can find it) in the morning or afternoon. Some teams dont have a first round pick due to trades for instance Edmonton and I believe Nashville doesnt either.

Sorry guys for the delay in posting the draft order...I believe I have the first round correct, unsure of the 2nd round, I dunno if any picks have been traded by any of the teams so if any of u know if any trades that were in the 2nd round then please let me know....

Note - I have put ur names down beside the team u have chosen. If there are still teams available by Friday then feel free to pick a 2nd team.

Note to WHEATMAN96, I'm hoping we can do a 2nd round but I'm not sure if we will get to it, do u still wanna keep Edmonton since they dont have a first rounder?

I was thinking, we could give each GM 12 hours to make a pick, maybe less so it doesnt take to long. I'm hoping we can be done the draft by the end of next weekend. I know some of u guys that have signed up and others I've noticed are on here a lot which is good so hopefully it can go quick. When a GM makes a selection they have to post it on here although I'll make a new thread probably with the heading "Mock Draft Results" or something along that line. If any of u have any ideas, please feel free to suggest them

What happens with the picks of teams that aren't occupied by a poster?Who does those teams(example St.Louis 1st overall).Unless you divy up the remaining team to the posters who are participating where we could end up with 2 or 3 teams to monitor in the draft.

You know you'll be heavily critisized by the media, and could potentially be fired right away  .

Just seems as if thats how things are ran in Toronto.

The teams that are left open on Friday will just go the GM's that would want a 2nd team but please only pick ONE more team and if that still isnt enough then first come first serve for a third team. Might be hard to monitor but hopefully everyone will be fair to the other people :).

I assume its like a sim would be .. taking the player of your choice when your turn comes up rinkrat - its supposed to be fun - or maybe the NHL scouts are watching and they'll use our picks to sway their decisions :p

Whats the schedule for our draft?
Start time,deadline for picks,etc?

Trav
06-01-2006, 06:53 PM
tomorrow nite if possible, hopefully all can be there, teams would then have say five hours to make a pick although that'll be tough if the draft goes in to the next work week and people are working. I just did a mock draft on the sportsnet website forum and it started last weekend and teams are still picking and its only a one round draft. I'm hoping the GM's here will be a lot quicker with their picks haha. The top half of the order should go fast if all GM's are around.

Would tomorrow nite work for everyone. Keep in mind if we all have two teams, considering that we likely will since there's been no new interest lately. I'd think it'd be go at a good pace.

Any alternatives?

Set a start time and then each GM gets 15 minits...

Trav
06-01-2006, 09:45 PM
I would set a time but I dunno what everyone's schedule is like and I dont want to pick a time where the majority wont be around haha. We can start say on Saturday morning at 10 Central, 9 Pacfic but if the first pick team wants, they can pick tomorrow and the following teams can pick as well. It being Friday tomorrow I'm sure some of u guys will have plans.
