Even tho Josh played for the Broncos I really liked his bang and crash style of play. When him and Schenderling were together they were like a set of Bash Brothers :laugh: .

The Western Hockey League Expansion Draft for the Chilliwack Bruins took place this afternoon and the Bruins selected 20-year-old forward Josh Aspenlind off of the Broncos roster to join their team in the 2006/07 season.

"It is unfortunate that we have to give up a character player like Josh to fulfill our commitment in the Chilliwack expansion draft. With the loss of Josh in our dressing room it will be very important for some of the younger players to assume a greater leadership role next season. We would like to thank Josh for his time in Swift Current and wish him all the best in Chilliwack."

Chynoweth goes on to say "With the rules that were set forth we could only protect so many players. Unfortunately this is a necessary evil that we have to deal with when you expand the league. We will be dealing with this again next year when Edmonton joins the League."

Aspenlind spent two seasons with the Broncos after coming to the team via a trade with the Prince George Cougars in the 2004/05 season. He has accumulated the following statistics to date in his Western Hockey League career:
