Raider Alumni Takes Over As Team President
Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – The Prince Albert Raiders are pleased to announce that former player Dale McFee has been appointed the President of the Western Hockey League team, taking over from Joe Barczai who has been President the past 5 years. The announcement comes after a board meeting today at which the team elected its’ Executive and Management Committees for 2006-07.

“After five years it is a good time to step aside”, commented a very pleased Barczai. “This organization has accomplished many things to be proud of, thanks to the hard work of the board members over that time. I am very pleased to see so many of our returning board members stepping up to take leadership roles. And the new faces we have on the board will bring fresh ideas and energy to the organization.”

McFee played for the Raiders from 1982-86 and was a member of the 1985 Memorial Cup Championship team. McFee tied for the team scoring title in the 1985-86 season with 47 goals and 59 assists for 106 points. He was also an Assistant Coach with the Raiders in 1993-94.

Joining McFee on the Executive will be Gordie Broda as Vice President and Greg McEwen as Treasurer.

“It is an honour and privilege to be elected President of the Prince Albert Raiders”, said McFee. “From a business standpoint it is nice to go into something that isn’t broken, and that is a tribute to the hard work of past and present board members. A big part of that is the work of out going board members specifically Joe Barczai, Craig Mitchell and Bob Twyver.”

“Taking over an organization like this is the responsibility of more than one person”, continued McFee. “To function efficiently requires the hard work of many and I am confident with the high quality of people we have volunteering on the board, they will all assist in the continued success of the organization. With the assistance of Vice President Broda we feel confident the organization, which is recognized as professional within the WHL because of the great staff in place, will continue to grow in the years to come.”

The Board also announced three appointments. Susan Fockler and Wayne Cameron were re-appointed for 2 year terms, while Trevor Dutchak was appointed to a one year term, taking over from Wally Seward who was transferred out of the Prince Albert area.
