Raiders Announce 3 to be Inducted to the Wall of Honour

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - As part of the 2nd Annual Raider Celebrity Alumni Dinner tonight, the Prince Albert Raiders have announced their first three inductees to the "Wall of Honour". This wall will be located by the Raider dressing room in the south east hallway of the Art Hauser Centre. Tonight the names were announced, with an induction ceremony to take place prior to a game during the 2006-07 Western Hockey League season.

The Raider Presidents Club has produced the first name in the Builder Category:

Reg Martsinkiw

Reg Martsinkiw was instrumental in bringing a Junior Hockey Franchise to Prince Albert and the charter President of the Prince Albert Raider Hockey Club in 1971. It was through his efforts, and determination, in association with other numerous volunteers and groups that Prince Albert was able to bring a Junior franchise to this city, now proudly known as the Prince Albert Raiders Hockey Club. He has been a contributing force in the success and growth of the Raiders Hockey club through the many years he was involved.

The Raider Alumni has produced the first two names in the Players Category (one from the SJHL era and one from the WHL era):

Alvin Moore

Alvin Moore was the first five-year Prince Albert Raider, playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League 1973 to 1978. Moore was instrumental in the first Centennial Cup Raider team 1976-77, being named a tournament All Star as the Raiders swept Pembroke, Ontario in the final series. Moore finished his Raider days with 164 goals, 238 assists and 402 total points.

Dan Hodgson

Dan Hodgson led the Raiders to the Memorial Cup Championship in 1985 capping a stellar junior career that included winning a World Junior Championship, being named the Most Valuable Player in the CHL, and MVP and all star at the Memorial Cup.

In three years in a Prince Albert Raiders uniform (1982-85), Hodgson played 202 games scoring 188 goals and 305 assists for a staggering 493 points - for an average of almost 2 and a half points a game.
