BLAZERS, CLARK STRIKE DEAL

KAMLOOPS, BC – The Kamloops Blazers Hockey Club is proud to announce they have reached an agreement which will see Dean Clark serve as both General Manager and Head Coach through the 2007-08 season, with a club option for the 2008-09 Western Hockey League campaign.

“It may have taken a little longer than planned to finalize, but the Board is very pleased with the outcome,” says Vice President Gary Cooper. “This arrangement will provide the organization with the level of stability we had intended.”

Clark has compiled a 336-211-60 record in 8 seasons as a WHL Head Coach in Calgary, Brandon, and Kamloops. Clark’s record also features five division pennants, one WHL championship, a 61-45 post-season record, and a 13-7 mark in playoff series.

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to continue with the plan of drafting and developing our young players into a solid on-ice product,” said Clark. “The board has shown confidence in our recent direction and I’m glad that now we can move forward and continue the job of becoming the best we can be both on and off the ice.”

Clark is expecting to fill out the remainder of the coaching staff in the next few weeks.
