Calgary, Alberta -- Forty four players including 17-year old defenceman Keith Aulie of the Brandon Wheat Kings has been invited to attend Canada's 2006 National Summer Under 18 Team Selection Camp next month in Calgary.

Aulie will be vying for one of twenty-two spots on Canada's National Under 18 Team which will take part in the World Under 18 Championships, to be held from August 8-12th in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Aulie is one of three Wheat Kings to be invited to a National Summer Evaluation Camp in the past 24 hours. On Thursday, defenceman Dustin Kohn and center Codey Burki were invited to this summer's National Junior Development Camp in Calgary.

A former first round bantam draft choice of the Wheat Kings, the 6'6" 210 lb native of Rouleau, Saskatchewan had two assists and 32 penalty minutes in 38 regular season games last season.

The National Summer Under 18 Selection Camp will be under the direction of head coach Cory Clouston of Kootenay and assistants Dave Hunchak of Swift Current and Kelowna's Jeff Truitt.

Aulie was one of four Saskatchewan born players invited to camp. Only one Manitoban meanwhile was chosen - Brandon product Alex Plante of the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen.

In other off-ice news, the 2006 NHL Entry Draft goes Saturday in Vancouver and Brandon center Codey Burki is expected to be at least one Manitoban to be selected. Calgary Hitmen Ryan White, a local product, and Winnipeg's Jonathan Toews are also expected to be chosen this weekend.
