At 6'8.5, Riley Emmerson will be the tallest player at training camp this year

Move over Derek Boogaard, there's a new sherrif in town.
Well, actually, Riley Emmerson isn't exactly new. He was in fact drafted by the Wild in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. And he was present at last year's training camp, where he accidentally fell on top of Patrick O'Sullivan, who suffered a seperated shoulder.

While Emmerson won't be challenging Derek Boogaard for his position any time soon, he will be the only player looking down at the Boogeyman at this year's training camp. The defenseman, who has also played the forward position, towers at 6-foot-8, and tips the scales at 230 pounds. He is the tallest player in organizational history, dwarfing the 6-foot-7 Boogaard and the 6-foot-8 Steve McKenna (Emmerson is actually 6-foot-8.5).

The Burnaby, British Columbia-native finished his second season in the Western Hockey League last year with the Tri-City Americans. He racked up 109 penalty minutes while chipping in one goal and one assist in 66 games.
