Everett, WA - The defending US Division Champions, Everett Silvertips and the WHL have released their tentative 2006-2007 regular season schedule earlier today. The Silvertips will play 72 games, with 36 home games at the Everett Events Center and 36 road games.
The Silvertips will begin their 4th Western Hockey League campaign on the road on Saturday, September 23 against the newest expansion franchise in the WHL, Chilliwack Bruins, at the Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, BC at 7:00 p.m. The Everett Silvertips home opener at the Everett Events Center will take place on Friday, September 29 against the Kelowna Rockets at 7:35 p.m. Everett will also host the Kamloops Blazers at the E.E.C. on Saturday, September 30 at 7:05 p.m. The Silvertips have altered their game times for Friday night games only at the Everett Events Center. All Friday night home games will begin at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday game times will remain at 7:05 p.m. while Sunday's game time will remain at 5:05 p.m.
The 2006-2007 Silvertips home regular season schedule will feature 25 weekend home dates. The dates include (9) Fridays', (13) Saturdays' and (3) Sundays'. In addition, the Silvertips will play home on (3) Tuesdays' and (8) Wednesdays'.
The Silvertips will battle their US Division foes in 36 games this season. Everett will battle their I-5 rivals, Seattle Thunderbirds (10) times this season (5 home, 5 road). In the rest of the US Division, the Silvertips will face off against Portland (10) times (5 home, 5 road), Spokane (8) times (4 home, 4 road) and Tri-City (8) times (4 home, 4 road).
In the BC Division, the Silvertips will tangle with the defending WHL Champions, Vancouver Giants (6) times (3 home, 3 road), Kamloops Blazers (4) times (2 home, 2 road), Kelowna Rockets (4) times (2 home, 2 road), Prince George Cougars (5) times (3 home, 2 road) and the expansion Chilliwack Bruins (6) times (3 home, 3 road). The Silvertips will play each Eastern Conference team one time during the 2006-2007 season. At home the Silvertips will face off against the Central Division when Calgary, Kootenay, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer come to the Everett Events Center. Against the East Division, the Silvertips will travel on the road to battle Brandon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current.
