The Brandon Wheat Kings newest import arrived in the Wheat City Monday.
The club secured the release of 19-year old Juraj Simek from his Swiss club team EHC Kloten well in advance of the start of the Wheat Kings' training camp, which opens August 31st.
The Slovakian-born Simek was selected by Brandon in the first round of June's CHL Import Draft, just four days after Vancouver selected the 6-foot-1, 190 pound left-winger in the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft.
Simek scored 21 goals and 63 points in 42 junior games in Switzerland last season and also played for the Swiss team at the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championship.
The Wheat Kings' second round pick in the import draft, Russian Igor Musatov, is not expected to come to Brandon to play this coming season
