The 40 players on the roster includes one extra overager and four fifteen year olds who will not be here at the start of the season. That leaves 35 players to get down to 22 or 23 though there maybe a few extras at the start of the season. The fact that the team has 10 sixteen year olds is where the majority of the releases will be. Hockey Canada rules I think (could be wrong) allows only sixty players that age this season among the twenty one teams. So that is likely seven releases for sure minimum among the players bringing the roster down to 28 players. There likely will be a few extra sixteens carried through the exibition season because of about ten guys away at NHL camps. Two goalies off the roster to come down to say 26 players. Reid Edmondson (18) and Nolan Toigo (17) will not be here which brings the roster down to 24. Whether Kenton Dulle (18) will be here is questionable. That could bring the roster down to 23 players.

IMO it may come down to Dulle or Rutherford. I think Dulle would win out...he is much more versitile. Rutherford is pretty one-dimensional. That coupled with the off ice issues (not a popular guy with his team mates) David has might make him the odd man out. TIme will tell though. Chemistry will count for alot. David was awesomme at camp last year and had a very poor season. HE is having a good camp again, but...who knows. Bouma and Wright making the team will hinder david's chances.

After watching lastnights game, the Giants have to be proud of some of the up and coming young guns. As far as the 16 year olds (10 of them) 3 will probably stick at least for the beginning of the season. Other 16 year olds (marked xxx) need sometime to mature...

Eight of those will be gone to NHL camps after the Everett tournament and the two fifteens will be sent back to their minor hockey teams after the Labour Day weekend. Which will leave twenty-one players for the exibition games the following weekend.

Giants may still be waiting to see if a few players come back from NHL camps at the start of the WHL season, but it should be pretty much set by then.

Can still carry up to 5 overagers till the overage cutdown date which is the middle of October. So that issue is still a ways off depending on what happens for Slade and Festerling at camp.
