i'm thinking of heading up for a couple of scrimmages...in previous years i've only attented the Blue/White game...are the scrimmages usually packed? (i.e should i get there a little or a lot before game times inorder to grab a decent seat)

Not usually, mostly parents and local Lumsdonians (not sure what to call the locals :D ). When main camp gets going there will be more people, but never really close to being packed.

To attempt to answer your questions Number_4

Friday is still:

Friday September 1/06

9:30am – 10:45am - Red vs Light Blue - Scrimmage
11:15am – 12:30pm - White vs Blue - Scrimmage

3:00pm – 4:15pm - Vets / Alumni Ice

6:00pm – 7:15pm - Red vs White - Scrimmage
7:45pm – 9:00pm - Blue vs Light Blue - Scrimmage

Players that stood/stand out... After Teubert, Metz, Raedeke, Cotterill, Kulchar, and I am assuming Eberle (wasn't sure who he was) were removed from the teams and the rest of the rookies were re-dispersed, I have to say that most of the talent left the camp. I'm not saying that the kids are bad or anything but definitely aren't up to par with the "veteran" 16-year olds.

Brett Miller #21 red is good, decent skater likes the physical play.

Koltyn Miller #2 red is decent in the d-zone, has decent speed and plays his position well.

But the players that stood out most were definitely Jeff Bosch, Spencer Laycock and Damien Ketlo in goal. I must say that the Pats have got some strength in goal.

Other than that, no one really stood out for the good. It seems as some guys are just there for the ice-time.

I will be going to camp yet again today with patsrock83 (who has posted less than 10 times here).

i was at thrusdays scrimmage between Light Blue and Blue...... players that stood out for me but yet have no clue who they were cuz there was nothing there to see who the players were but on Team Light Blue #21 really stood out alot has great speed, amazing hands, and sees the ice very well..... also on Team Light Blue was #24 was abit of a bigger kid...... and for Team Blue #10 was pretty good had good wheels (not as good as #21 on LIght Blue) and #6 on the defence was really solid had decent size and was strong along the boards...i just wish i would of known who these kids were that i was watching....

All in all tho both sides had good speed there was only 1 lug out there who i thought had problems keeping up and that was #22 on Team Blue...... i wanna try to get out there again maybe this evening or saturday sometime if not i guess ill have to wait till the pre season starts...damn work anyways

Thursday morning's 2 scrimmages were hard to follow as there was no rosters available so I can't really comment on them that much... I was trying to figure out each player and who they were.

But as for the evening Thursday and morning Friday.
Team White isn't all that good kinda slow and don't have many weapons (if any). #6 Travis Sparrow and #21 Ryan Wilkinson stood out above the others.

Team Blue is very similar to White in the fact that they really have no weapons and lack team speed. #2 Damien Weekusk is fast and is good defensively. #24 Prestin Morin and #25 Airik Price are big crash and bangers.

Team Light Blue has some speed in their line-up but lack a stand out player. However #20 Blake O'Neil is a small speedy player with lots of upside. #2 Byron Sorenson is a pretty good d-man and could develop into a sure fire WHLer (my thought).

Team Red is stacked imo, they have some weapons #20 Jesse Gray, #21 Brett Miller, #27 Murray Doran have a lot of talent and like to crash and bang. #2 Koltyn Miller is steady on the d-side of things.

But overall lots of these kids will not ever see WHL action but it's a really good experience for them. To be honest there are a few players that I will not name should not be there. The good players look really good vs. some of these other guys. I like the heart and determination of most of the guys which impressed me.

Thursday evening results:
Blue 5 Red 4 in a shootout
Blue scored 4 in the 3rd.

Light Blue 8 White 0
(note: 1 scrap; Light Blue #19 Tyler Perkins who is 210 lbs. fought #7 White Brendan Crowther who is 160 lbs., not a good tilt mostly dancing, Perkins win)

Friday morning results:
Light Blue 5 Red 3
(note: 2 scraps both decent tilts; Red #21 Brett Miller vs. L. Blue #7 Aaron Enns, good tilt not many punches but decision to Miller. 2nd scrap 2 Regina boy go toe to toe With Perkins going at it with Brenden Kotyk. A few punches thrown, win to Kotyk.)

Blue 4 White 1
Boring.

Missing due to injury from the Pats rookie camp was 2nd rounder Garrett Mitchell and 3rd rounder Alexander Pym.

Rookie Camp pleasent surprises had to be the play of 7th rounder Kyle Mulder and list, Jesse Gray.

Mulder performed like a confident 2nd rounder with great vision and scoring touch. Gray looked like solid power forward with a great shot.

Both 15 year olds were carried through to main camp.
