Team White Wins Intrasquad Game

Zach Boychuk rose to the occasion with two goals and one assist in the annual Blue vs. White Intrasquad game at the Enmax Centre on Sunday.
After trailing 2-1 going into the third period, Team White came out on top thanks to two quick goals. Sterling Bear tied the game for Team White while on the power-play and 22 seconds later, Boychuk gave Team White the 3-2 lead. Team White didn’t look back and came out on top by a 3-2 final.
Mitch Versteeg, younger brother of former Hurricane Kris, opened the scoring in the game at 2:01 of the first period. Team White tied the game at the 9:58 mark on Boychuk’s first goal of the game.
Josh Gionfriddo, who was acquired by the Hurricanes from the Red Deer Rebels earlier this summer, put Team Blue back in the lead before the end of the first period.
