Bruins make it official

Boston, Mass – The Boston Bruins have signed center Wacey Rabbit to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli.

Rabbit, 19, was Boston’s sixth pick, 154th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft and is attending his second training camp with the team. The 5’9”, 169 lb. native of Lethbridge, Alberta has played the last three seasons in the Western Hockey League with Saskatoon. He netted a career-high of 28 goals with the Blades in 2005-06 with 28-28=56 totals and 45 penalty minutes in 64 games and served as Saskatoon’s captain. He was named the WHL’s Humanitarian of the Year at the conclusion of the season. Rabbit has 59 goals and 81 assists for 140 points with 166 penalty minutes in 194 career junior games.

Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken commented on Rabbit’s signing this morning “ We are very happy for Wacey and would like to congratulate him on signing with the Bruins and wish him the best with his professional career. We would also like to thank Wacey for his outstanding contribution to not only to the Saskatoon Blades but to the entire community of Saskatoon and area.”

well ya i have to say im hapyp for him but it would be nice to see him in one last season as a Blade but what are you gunna do he is signed by an nhl team adda boy Wacey
