Kennewick, WA – The Ti-City Americans today have obtained 20-year-old left wing Ladislav Scurko from the Seattle Thunderbirds for a fourth round bantam draft pick in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.
Scurko has just completed a successful training camp with the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers and was Seattle’s third leading scoring in 2005-06. In 64 games, he tallied 17 goals, 43 points.
“With some encouraging signs over the weekend we felt adding a proven veteran scorer was not only needed but will make us a better team,” said Americans governor/general manager Bob Tory. “It shows our fans and players that we are committed to winning not only in the future, but now.”
Scurko will arrive in the Tri-Cities tomorrow and will be in the Americans lineup this weekend.
