The WHEAT KINGS kick off a 4-game Western Hockey League home stand
Saturday night as they close out a home and home series with the PRINCE
ALBERT RAIDERS.BRANDON opened the series with a 4-0 victory Wednesday
night at the Communiplex to pull to within two points of the front running
SASKATOON BLADES in the Eastern Division.With the win, which extended
BRANDON'S win streak to six games, the WHEAT KINGS improved their record
to 32-19-5-1, good for 70 points and a tie with CALGARY for fourth
place in the Conference.Rookie RYAN REAVES led the winners with a goal and
an assist on Wednesday, with singles coming off the sticks of SAMI
SANDELL, RYAN STONE and ERIC FEHR, with his league leading 43rd of the
season.TYLER PLANTE made 22 saves in recording his fourth shutout of the
campaign.A night earlier, BRANDON dumped the BLADES 7-4 with STONE
leading the way with two goals and four points.WHEAT KINGS have scored
nineteen goals in their last three games, after blasting REGINA 8-2 on Sunday
night.Winners of eight of their last nine, BRANDON is 18-7-1-1 at home
and 14-12-4 on the road.BRANDON is 8-2-0 in it's last ten games.

VS. PRINCE ALBERT: The WHEAT KINGS are currently 4-2-1 against the
RAIDERS this season.ERIC FEHR (5-3-8) and RYAN STONE (2-6-8) lead BRANDON
in scoring during this year's season series with PRINCE ALBERT.

PLANTE RECORDS NUMBER FOUR: By recording his 4th shutout of the season
on Wednesday, 17-year old TYLER PLANTE has moved into a tie with JOMAR
CRUZ for seventh place on the club's all time shutout list.He's also
moved to within one of the franchise single season record of five, set
last year by former WHL all star netminder JOSH HARDING.

WORKING OVERTIME: Last week's game in PRINCE ALBERT (3-2 win), marked
the fourteenth time this season that the WHEAT KINGS have been forced to
play overtime.The win was BRANDON'S eighth, improving it's overall
overtime record to 8-1-5, which leads the Western Hockey League this
season.In fact, the eight wins ties a club record, set three years ago and is
one shy of the WHL record, established by the PORTLAND WINTER HAWKS
during the 1989-90 campaign.Right-winger ERIC FEHR has scored four of the
club's eight overtime winners, which has tied him with former REGINA
PAT FRANK KOVACS for the WHL record.

OTHER MILESTONES: 5-year WHL veteran LANCE MONYCH became only the sixth
player in franchise history to play in 300 career games when he took to
the ice last Tuesday night, joining the likes of DWAYNE GYLYWOYCHUK
(323), AARON GOLDADE (310), DALE MCMULLIN (309), RYAN CRAIG (302) and
RANDY PONTE (300).Drafted and signed by the PHOENIX COYOTES, MONYCH enters
the weekend having played 304 games.Captain TIM KONSORADA has moved to
within three games of 300 and last week, he moved past BRETT THURSTON
and into seventh place on the club's all time list.

FEHR'S STREAK COMES TO END: WASHINGTON CAPITALS' first round draft
choice ERIC FEHR, who had his 10-game point scoring streak come to an end
Sunday night against REGINA, heads into the weekend sitting atop the
Western Hockey League scoring race with 77 points including a league
leading 43 goals.The last WHEAT KING to win the WHL scoring crown was RAY
FERRARO in '83-84.FEHR has managed a point in twelve of his last 13 games
(4-14-18).

WHO ELSE IS HOT? CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS' second round draft choice JAKUB
SINDEL has seven goals - including two game winners - in his last eight
games. SINDEL is 10-5-15 in 21 games since joining the WHEATS after
Christmas.RYAN STONE (24-47-71) and TIM KONSORADA (21-45-66) remain among
the league leaders.STONE is 6-5-11 in his last five games while
KONSORADA has a point in eight of his last nine games (4-8-12).STEVEN LATER is
third in scoring among defenceman with 46 points.The line of SANDELL,
REAVES and TEEGAN MOORE have combined for fourteen points over the
course of the last five games.

DID YOU KNOW: BRANDON'S powerplay is back atop the WHL (22.7%) while
its penalty killing is 12th (83.4%).ERIC FEHR, the club's Player of the
Month for January, leads the league with 22 powerplay goals.Defenceman
JON WEBB has been suspended indefinitely, pending further review for his
cross check on REGINA'S JORDAN MCGILLIVRAY Sunday night.WHEAT KINGS are
currently averaging 3,284 fans per game or 7% more than a year ago.
