Pardon me if this has been posted in another thread:

Are any Silvertip fans aware that Shaun Heshka was in an automobile accident on his way to the Manitoba Moose training camp?

Apparently he fell asleep after driving for too long at one stretch, and rolled his vehicle.

He is likely very lucky that he ended up with no serious injuries (remember former Red Deer defenceman Cody Holzapfel?). He simply was banged up and held out of on-ice workouts until today or tomorrow.

Local Winnipeg radio station had a brief blurb on the morning sports where Heshka described the incident.

I sort of wondered why he hadn't been participating in camp to this point.

wow -- I hope there are no extenuating injuries, well here's hoping he heals quickly and is in a Moose jersey as soon as he's cleared to play.

From the 2002 article:
On his way to training camp Aug. 28, Holzapfel was involved in a car accident in which his vehicle rolled up to six times.

“We have no idea how long he’s going to miss,” Guame said. “He’s broken both his arms. We don’t anticipate Cody playing any time in the near future. We’re thankful that he’s still with us No. 1 and No. 2 let’s hope for a quick recovery and a full recovery.”

The Rebels then released him in October of 2003: http://www.sportzdomain.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=16854
